Scrap Yard

In the process of trying to add the ability to run a second train on the first level. I have added a long passing siding on the front lower edge of the layout.

This has enabled me to add additional industries and buildings etc. along the way. Thus my scrap yard was born. The scrap yard office shack was scratchbuilt using the foamboard base shell covered with wooden coffee stir stix. The metal roofing is done with aluminum foil and then etched in PCB etchant. This was my first attempt at using this stuff. I liked the way it turned out. All the signs are from the web and scaled down. My wooden fence is also scratchbuilt from coffiee stir stix and some stripwood for the posts and cross boards and weathered with a mix of india ink/ alcohol. Weathering / rusting was done with Bragdon's Weathering Powders and chalks.

The photos show some of the process
