TIU Repair
I had purchased a TIU & remote off someone on ebay and knew there was a problem with it from the seller. I figured I'd pick it up cheap and try to fix it.
Well after I got the TIU I opened it up, I found that one of the fixed channels on the output side had a broken part. A TVS ( transient voltage suppressor ).
I checked with the MTH service dept. and verified the part I had looked up on the web was correct. ( .80 part ) and also asked if I needed to check for anything else that might be broke associated with this part. I was told that was all I needed to replace or worry about. The repair took all of about 2 min. to do and the longest part of that was waiting for the soldering iron to heat up.

Broken TVS removed

New TVS ready to bend in my resistor / diode bender

New TVS bent and cut to length to match old one

One side of TVS soldered in with heat sink attached to prevent heat damage to part.

Second side of TVS installed
