This is not a comprehensive list of Texas-area events (
here's a fairly comprehensive one), just those that I know are filk-friendly or potentially filk-friendly. Or at least not actively filk-hostile. Oh, and "Texas-area" generally means Texas and the four states bordering it. If you fit in this category and would like to be listed here,

FEBRUARY
ConDFW VI - Feb. 23-25, 2007, at the Radisson Hotel Dallas North in Richardson, TX. Guests of honor: Emma Bull, Will Shetterly, Harry Turtledove, Bob Eggleton. Special guests include Steven Brust and Robert Asprin.
MARCH
All-Con 2007 - March 16-18, 2007, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel North Dallas in Addison. Heavier emphasis on media guests than most other cons listed here.
AggieCon 38 - March 22-25, 2007, at the Memorial Student Center on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station. There's usually a Saturday afternoon filk session and Friday and Saturday night open filks. Writer Guest of Honor: Gene Wolfe. Comic GoH: James O'Barr. Artist GoH: Ruth Thompson. Music performers: Eyeshine Band and Ghoultown.
MidSouthCon 24 - March 23-25, 2007, at the airport Holiday Inn Select in Memphis, TN (not technically in the area, but it's right on the border). Author GoH is Terry Pratchett. Filk GoH: Leslie Fish. Also appearing: The Great Luke Ski.
JUNE
A-KON 18 - June 1-3, 2007, at the Adams Mark Hotel in Dallas. Anime-focused con, probably the best attended in Texas.
SoonerCon 2007 - June 8-10, 2007, at the Biltmore Hotel in Oklahoma City. Second year for the revival of a longtime OKC convention (under new management), this time in a much better hotel than the first year. Guest of Honor: Stephen R. Donaldson.
ApolloCon 4 - June 22-24, 2007, at the Houston Doubletree (formerly the Hyatt Regency Houston Airport). Guest of Honor: C.S. Friedman. Filk guests: Graham and Becca Leathers. Shaping up to be a nice con for filk in its own right.
JULY
Conestoga 11 - July 20-22, 2007, at the Radisson Hotel (formerly the Sheraton) in Tulsa, OK. Guest of Honor is Laurell K. Hamilton. Dedicated filk room.
AUGUST
ArmadilloCon 29 - Aug. 10-12, 2006, at the Doubletree Hotel North in Austin. Author Guest of Honor is Louise Marley. Usually lets us have a room, but this tends to be more of a business-oriented (author/editor/publisher) con and some years the filk is extremely sparse. Still, I like the con itself and it's close to home, so I keep plugging.
Bubonicon 39 - Aug. 24-26, 2007, in Albuquerque, NM. Another one that's been around a while. Usually has a well-attended filk that tends more to hymnal stuff (with rare exception, everybody sings on every song, using a filkbook given out as part of the registration packet).
SEPTEMBER
FenCon IV - Sept. 21-23, 2007, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Addison. Guest of Honor: Connie Willis; Music Guest of Honor:
Tom Smith; Fan Guest of Honor: Kathleen Sloan; Artist Guest of Honor: David Mattingly; Special Guest: Toni Weisskopf. Very good SF con and the premier filk event in Texas.

MARCH
25th annual North Texas Irish Festival - March 2-4, 2007, at Fair Park in Dallas. An at times overwhelming amount of Celtic and folk music from a wide variety of artists on several stages at once. And at night after all the concerts are done, there's a performance circle (usually an instrument jam in one room and vocals in another) back at the festival hotel (the Radisson Hotel Central Dallas).
MAY-JUNE
Kerrville Folk Festival - May 24-June 10, 2007, at Quiet Valley Ranch near Kerrville, TX. Three weekends of solid music with two weeks of music workshops in between. If, like me, you're not too into the outdoorsy stuff (read: you like beds and plumbing), either bring your RV or book a hotel room well ahead of time. Half the fun, though, is singing around the multitudinous campsites at night after the concerts are done.
