Ho! Ho!
Ho! Merry Christmas and happy holidays from all of us here at The
Rectory! 2006 was another year chocked
full of fun and excitement for us Priests! Everyone is healthy, happy,
and ready for Christmas! Below you'll find some details on what we've
been up to in the past year...
Ashley turned
9 this year and is just lots of fun to hang out with. She's in 3rd
grade, and is doing great in her studies! She takes piano lessons,
plays basketball, participates in Girl Scouts and Indian Princesses, and
sings in the church youth choir. She also made her first communion
this year! Ashley celebrated her last single-digit birthday this
year having a spa party at our house. She and a few of her friends
enjoyed massages, foot baths, and of course the nail polish was flowing.
Allison
turned 7 this year and is growing like a weed...albeit a good weed.
She's in 2nd grade this year and is also an excellent student and a super
reader. She played softball, soccer, and basketball this year, and
participates in Brownies and Indian Princesses. She also made her
first reconciliation this year! Allison celebrated her birthday this
year having a puppy pool party at our community pool with a bunch of her
friends.
Andrew is
one cool dude. He turned "3-in-March"
this year and had a big Thomas The Train birthday bash. He started
preschool this year and is having lots of fun. He knows all the kids
in his class...by their first and last names. And he pronounces some
of those tricky last names better than me! :) He's learned to ride
his big wheel this year and is starting to learn to ride a big boy bike.
He loves to play computer/video games and jump on the trampoline with his
sisters!
As you likely
know, Laura has been taking classes for a while now in the pursuit of getting
a nursing degree. This fall she was accepted in and started the Nursing
Program at Durham Tech! She's still busting the curves, in multiple
ways I must say. All while juggling the kids, their activities, and
housework... Yet another super and amazing year!
I've also
had fun this year with the girl's Indian Princess tribes, picking up Chief
duties for Allison's tribe! The outings and one on one time with
the girls is a great bonding experience. I also coach Allison's basketball
team, the Spurs, who are undefeated so far this year! (Never mind
that they don't keep score in this age group...)
We took
a family trip (minus Andrew) to Williamsburg/Jamestown
in March of this year. The kids really enjoyed learning about how
the Indians and early settlers had to live. In one demonstration,
a Jamestown settler was displaying how to fire a musket and all the safety
precautions that were necessary. Oddly enough, our VP Mr. Cheney
just happened to be taking a tour with his granddaughter at the time.
I think I saw him taking notes, but I can't be sure...
We took
another family trip along with Grandma & Grandpa Mueller to Myrtle
Beach in May of this year. We spent some time on a lazy river, in
the pool and at the beach. We all had loads of fun!
In early
August the whole family spent a great week in Panama City! This year,
Grandpa Don and Uncle Jerry came down to vacation with us and the kids
just loved having them along for the fun!
Andrew &
I got to head back to Panama City in October to visit with Grandma Sue
and Grandpa Don as well as Aunt Lisa & Suzanne! We had some good
male bonding time in the car both ways and Andrew had a big time with all
the attention focused on him...KICK IT!!!
For Halloween
this year, Ashley dressed up as a wicked witch, Allison was Kit (an American
Girl character), and Andrew was....MR. INCREDIBLE!!! They all are
incredible indeed!
With all
the excitement this year, I'm a bit behind on getting all our photos posted
on the web. But I'll catch up soon, or at least hope to...
In the mean time, browse the pics I do have posted, and keep a lookout
for more in the near future at: http://www.therectory.org
We hope
you and yours have a happy and blessed holiday season and prosperous 2007!!!
