Rules

  • Each Team will have 2 players, the lower handicapped player will be the 'A', and the higher handicapped player will be the 'B' player. This could change throughout the season as handicaps change.
  • Matches are played A-A and B-B, and we play each team at least one time. We play match points based on your net score (actual score less a pop if you get it on a hole). Each hole is worth a point. If you tie a hole with your match opponent, you will each get a 1/2 point. With each match, having the low "net" score will earn you an extra point. Therefore, there are 10 points available for each match.
  • Handicaps will be determined by a rolling average of the last 5 scores posted of those, only use the lowest 4 scores. (If we have less than 5 scores in, we will use the most we can). We use the course slope and rating to calculate 9 hole handicaps.
  • If the Player doesn't have a handicap, we'll back into their handicap based on that night's score and add three strokes to be applied to the highest handicapped holes.
  • For the handicap calculation we are using Equitable Stroke Control (with rules based on the following table) 9 Hole Handicap 4 or less max score on a hole = double bogey, 9 Hole Handicap 5 to 9 max score on a hloe =7, 9 Hole Handicap10 to14 max score on a hole = 8, 9 Hole Handicap 15 to 19 max score on a hole = 9. For carding your scores, still post what you had as an actual score.
  • If you can't make it for a week, you'll need to get a sub for your match. We have a list of willing subs, or you can get a friend to play. Payment for the round will need to be taken care by yourself or your sub. That's between you and your sub.
  • If you have a Sub playing for you, all points they earn will be counted towards your team total. If they have a handicap, that will be used. If no handicap is available, we will use that day's round to back into a handicap for the point's calculation with 75% handicap.
  • There are no makeup rounds. If you are a no-show and do not line up a sub for your match, your match opponent will play a match where we will use your handicap plus give your opponent 3 strokes on the 3 easiest handicapped holes. The idea is that we don't want to just give a free 10 points for a match that isn't played, your opponent still have to play for their points. Your team will receive zero points for your match.
  • Rain checks: If you purchase green fees and we are unable play do to weather, please get a rain check at the front counter.
  • This website will be updated weekly after the Tuesday rounds on Wednesday sometime, with the current league standings. A copy of the schedule, contacts, subs, and weekly standings posted the league night. Cards will be printed for each match with your names, match opponent, handicaps, and the holes you get pops on. The first guy in each 4some can pick it up from the front desk as you check in. Turn them into Paul DeLange or Don Duncan after the round.
  • Make sure to check in with the front desk before the round so they can mark your name off the list as to who is playing.
  • We will have the "Lift Clean and Place" In the Fairway ONLY rule in affect only through the month of May. If you need to do the L-C-P rule, your lie must keep consistent with being in the fairway of your ball location. After May 31st, we all play the ball where it lies unless your match opponent suggests to you that you move it. It's not up to you, but it's up to your opponent, whether or not you can move the ball.
  • Lost ball/Par 3's: Determine entry point use 2 club lengths no closer to the hole and drop. You will take a one stroke penalty. Lost ball from tee box: determine the line it went out of bounds use 2 club lengths no closer to the hole and drop. You will take a one stroke penalty. Do not walk back to the tee box to hit another shot. Fescue Rule: Lost ball take maximum of 5 minutes to look for ball. Then agree on entry point use 2 club lengths no closer to the hole and drop. • Most everyone participates in the skins game. Skins will collected on the 1st tee box at the beginning of the 1st half and then again for the 2nd half of our season by Paul DeLange. The fee is $20.00 for each half. Any Par, birdie, eagle, or double-eagle qualifies for a skin. If you are the only player with the lowest sub-par score for the hole, you will receive a skin. The $$ for that week will be divided among the skin winners. If we have a week where there are no skin payouts, that $$ will carry over to the next week.
  • Our 21st week will be our Championship night. The top 8 teams overall will play for the Championship. If there is a tie for 8th place the final spot will be determined by head to head competition first then go back each week reviewing total points scored. The #1 seed has the choice to play the 8th, 7th, 6th or 5th seeded team and select their tee time. The # 2 & 3 seeded teams will follow and pick their opponent and tee time. All other teams will be playing for end of season positioning with the 9th seed team playing the 18th seeded team and so on. Teams 9-18 will use the season ending point standings before play to ultimately determine final positioning. Teams 1-8 playing for the Championship, will not use the accumulated points from the season. All teams will begin the night with zero points and after the round the team that scores the most combined points as a team will win the Championship! In case of a tie the rules are: 1. Playoff starting with hole #1 play until tie is broken. 2. Combined Net Scores (not points). 3. Handicap Holes.
  • Our 22nd week will be our last "Fun Night". Following the match, dinner and season ending awards will be given out.
