Wash day is upon us. You had a new wringer washer.

You sorted the clothes by color. You washed starting with the lightest color and work to the dark colors as you will wash several loads of wash in the same water. To do the wash you also needed a wash tub with clean water in it.  You put the clothes into the washer that has hot water in it and some home made soap. You turned on the machine and let the clothes agitate for 10 minutes or so. Then you took the clothes one at a time and ran them through the wringer. These were two rubber rollers that were under spring pressure. They squeezed the water out of the clothes. The water ran back into the machine for reuse and the clothes fell into a wash tub of clean water after they pass though the wringer. The clothes sit in the wash tub as you put another load of dirty clothes into the washer. As the next load is washing you swished the clothes around in the rinse water by hand. Then you swung the wringer around so as you run the clothes from the rinse water in the wash tub through the wringer again, the water ran back into the wash tub. The clothes exited the wringer this time to fall into the wash basket. You took the wash basket outside to the wash lines. There you  shook the clothes out one at a time and hung them on the wash line to dry. By the time you completed this it was time to start the process over with another load. You only hoped that it would remain sunny all day today.
