Custom made Fids
A tapered wooden spike called a 'fid' or Fid pin,
Marlin Spike
, is the traditional splicing tool . Used by
sailors when making and repairing ropes and lines. Used to make
knots, pry knots apart and make rope splices on sailing ships.
Made in the style you would have commonly find on sailing ships. .
Made of a beautiful piece of Lignum Vitae. The densest Hardwood on
earth, commonly used on sailing ships . Notice the fine wood
grain. The various brown hues and streaks of dark green. Buffed to
a radiant shine.
Each Fid is hand made to order. So they will be similar but not an
exact copy of the ones shown.
Will also custom make Fids.
