The Neil Young Archives

An Archives Timeline

Introduction

Newsflash: 1/31/10. The Neil Young Archives Volume 1 wins a Grammy for Best Box Set! Congratulations to Gary Burden, Jenice Heo and the entire Shakey Pix staff for winning Neil's first Grammy ever. This news comes 10 days after the passing of Archives Producer and long time Shakey Pix head L.A. Johnson who had documented Neil's career over the last 40 years. He will be missed.

This is a guide to The Blu Ray Edition of The Archives. Content wise, this guide is accurate for the DVD version as well, though only Blu Ray may access the BD-Live downloads. The reason for the existence of this guide is that there is no official reference which details all of the contents of this set including so-called "hidden tracks". On Neil's official site, for example, you will only be able to find the track listings for the "Main Program" or what will play if you press "Play All". This program is identical to the CD version. But as you can see by exploring the links below, there is more to The picture than meets the eye. So, after 21 years....here we go!

Important Blu-Ray Navigation Information

The "pop-up menu" button on your remote is an important feature for navigating through the Blu-Ray set. Experiment with it frequently.
