Hello,

It’s been a while I know, but all things considered Morgan is once again into the thick of writing a couple of additional books. More about that later on. If you are a first timer here, glad to have you, if you have been a member for a while, glad you are still out there. I have always attempted to bring you some tidbits of information about Morgan, her life, her challenges, and her cadre of “little furry people”. Knowing Morgan for over thirteen years, I think I may have run out of things to say about her, but not true. As she has said in the past, she is ever changing. The challenges of today’s world always impacts everyone and I feel that Morgan is really sensitive to that but also gives us a way to transport our minds into various time periods through her writing.

She is very keenly aware of the political climate and the economics of the world, but more specifically that of Ireland. She speaks of changes where Ireland was not too long ago called the Celtic Tiger because of the blossoming business booms to about two years ago as she said “Ireland went more spectacularly broke than any nation in modern time – and all due, not to the sub-prime market in America or international circumstances, but to the sheer arrogance, corruption and incompetence of our own politicians…”.  I think that feeling is probably ubiquitous.

She had really wanted to retire after writing her Century Series, but went on to write ‘Brendán’ (and I for one, am very glad). So one of her books that she is writing has a working title ‘After Rome, Before Arthur’ “set in Britain in the so-called dark ages. Not so much a historical novel as a forensic examination of how two very different men deal with what they perceive to be the end of civilization as they know it.” This should be at the publishers now; hopefully we will see it soon.  In addition to that, she is also going to be writing a novel for young readers via her Irish publisher, O’Brien Press.

To close, I would like to say some words about Morgan’s “little furry people”.  After losing her beloved Tuathflaith after 23 years she went on to add a kitten known as Beauty, and now she has lost her cat known as The Celtic Tiger, as she described him “22 pounds of striped magnificence”. A rescue that included his sister as well, was a 13 year friendship that ended with an unknown disease. She states “…there will never be another Tiger, nor will I try to replace him.”  Morgan still has her dear dog Rusty along with Beauty and four other felines and two ancient chickens, George and Ernestine.

As usual ---
Bright Blessings Always,
