- We both enjoy traveling, gardening, and reading. In addition, Tony is an avid book collector, handyman, and volunteer at The Bookman, an international charity that gives away books. For her part, Jody continues to teach two days each week during the school year, collects miniatures of frogs, cares for a wide group of close friends, is Past President of the Pacfic Beach Woman's Club, and donates her time to several charities.
- We travel as much as possible, usually at least one large and one small trip each year. Our 2010 travels included a three week road trip to Canada for Tony's mother's 90th birthday and back through Washington, DC and the southern US, and a week in Maui, Hawaii in September. Last year we spent a week in Costa Rica, flew to Canada for a family reunion, and took a cruise around Hawaii. Over the past six years we have visited England, Germany, Ireland, Western Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii, and much of the US southwest. Due to his military brat background, his business travel, and diving, Tony has also been to 48 of the 50 states, 9 of the 10 Canadian provinces, France, Holland, Belgium, Austria, India, and the Bahamas. With a few short trips to Austin, Texas and Sedona, Arizona, our next major trip will be to Costa Rica in February 2011.
- Our book collection contains more than 2,000 volumes, with heavy emphasis on ocean/diving topics, science fiction, history, and classic literature.
- We have five children between us, three granddaughters, Ayanna, Mya, and Sophie, and a grandson, Michael. You can see their photos in our album. Ayanna was born in California in 2001 but now lives in Ottawa, Canada. Mya was born in Montreal, Canada in 2002 and lives there still. Michael was also born in Montreal in 2005, and Sophie is the youngest being born in Ottawa in 2005. In early 2010, Tony's son Sean brought his wife and two children to San Diego for a 2 week visit, planning to return again in 2012. And, in April of 2011 Tony's daughter Marie-Chantal will be visiting San Diego for 10 days.
- One of our major interests is in purchasing and renovating old homes for resale. We renovated our first house in 2002 and have just finished our third which we liked so much we decided to live in it ourselves. We moved in on February 15, 2006. With the current housing market, it may be a while before we do another project.
