TRIO is an independent, not-for-profit, international organization committed to improving the quality of life of transplant candidates, recipients, their families. living donors, and the families of organ and tissue donors.
Through the TRIO Headquarters and a network of chapters, TRIO serves its members in the areas of: Awareness, Support, Education, and Advocacy.
Transplant Support Group
Akron-Canton TRIO is a support group for those who have received a transplant, their
families and support people, those waiting for a transplant, health care professionals, living donors, and donor families.
We as recipients have a common purpose, to deal with post transplant conditions of our bodies, and take medications to keep us alive.
At our meetings we can come together and share ideas, tips and experiences. Hopefully in this process some of our members will become advocates to help others.
By attending a meeting you will no longer feel alone and can share with other recipients.
We also need our support people at home who help us every day. They also attend meetings and have a chance to speak.
Meetings
This year our meetings will be covered dish. Each member brings an entree
or dessert, we supply the beverages, utensils, cups etc. We meet the third Tuesday
of each month 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Education Bldg. 'A' at the North
Canton Medical Foundation, 6046 Whipple Ave. NW, North Canton, Ohio.
