AUGUST  2011

          On Aug. 2, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Tiffin Knights of Columbus, mass was celebrated at the Serra picnic by Rev. Joseph Szybka and concelebrated by Revs. Michael Roemmele, Dennis Schroeder and Philip Smith preceded the cocktail hour and dinner. Pat Englehart welcomed the group. The club hosted area priests, nuns, semenarians and their parents, deacons and their wives, and other religious affiliates of the Diocese of Toledo. About 90 members and guests attended.

          On Aug. 16, 2011 at 6 p.m. in the Upper room at the St. Joseph Activities Center, Tiffin Serra Club met with prayer, following the 5:15 p.m. mass at St. Joseph Church. A meal followed.

          Pat Englehart opened the meeting with prayer, Rev. Joseph Szybka reported Rev. Denninger is residing at Autumnwood Nursing Home, still battling cancer. And that school will begin soon. Pat read a thank you note from Andrew Wellman. Joanne Kirian gave the financial report. There were 3 guest in attendance.

          Lynn Mileski introduced the speaker of the evening--Rev. Philip Smith, he spoke on Hours leading to Ordination. He recounted his time in semenary,spoke of his experience of his time in Rome, where he will return in Sept. for finishing his studys until June 2012. He spoke of his summer assignment to the parishes on Kellys Island, Put- in- Bay and a few other islands. His main residence is Fremont St. Ann. He thanked the club for all the prayers and support given him over the years. He will return to the Toledo Diocese in June and will await his new assignment in July.

          Fr. Philip gave us his blessing, Pat ended the meeting in prayer.

   *****Holy Hour is on the last monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Church.
