Sucre was known as the Athens of America in 17^th century Spanish Colonial Latin America.  Today it is called the White City, as all buildings in the city center must be painted white.  As the judicial capital of Bolivia located at 9,151 feet, Sucre enjoys a moderate climate year-round.
