This is the view that greets you when you enter the lobby of El Hostel De Su Merced, near the center of Sucre, the judicial capital of Bolivia.  This 18^th century colonial mansion is now a hotel and has been in the same family for several generations.  Sucre was known as the Athens of America in 17^th century Spanish Colonial Latin America.  Today it is called the White City, as all buildings in the city center must be painted white.
