Sucre,

Bolivia

Item Number—P121

This is the view that greets you when you enter the lobby of El Hostel De Su Merced, near the center of Sucre, the judicial capital of Bolivia.  This 18th century colonial mansion is now a hotel and has been in the same family for several generations.  Sucre was known as the Athens of America in 17th century Spanish Colonial Latin America.  Today it is called the White City, as all buildings in the city center must be painted white.
