Alhambra,

Granada, Spain

Item Number—P147

The Alhambra (in Arabic "the red fortress") is a palace and fortress complex of the last Moorish kingdom of southern Spain, constructed during the mid 14th century.  During Napoleon’s occupation it was used as a barracks and narrowly escaped being blown up. Towering above the city of Grenada and extraordinarily well-preserved, the Alhambra has been called “the most exciting, sensual and romantic of all European monuments.”
