Special QSL's
The QSL card has always been an interesting facet of amateur radio. I have saved so many and will share a few of the many. As noted on the card this QSL is for a Moonbounce QSO of June 1964 on 2 meters. My station was a cobbled up transmitter/receiver which was interfaced to the 60' dish at Johns Hopkins. Now a 60' dish sounds like a big antenna but at 2 meters it only has moderate gain. For whatever reason the antenna worked well on receive but not so good on transmit. We just did not have that good of a signal. But it was FUN!
After only being licensed for a bit more than a year and been invited to attend the Potomac Valley Radio Club was a huge thrill. I had only operated in a few contests but was keenly interested. After the 1953 ARRL Sweepstakes I received this card below. And the front You might know his address!
