The
author of these pages is not an expert in DNA. However every
effort is made to provide accurate data and analysis. In
using this page to further your research, you are urged to read
additional articles and browse other Surname Project test analyses
and draw your own conclusions. If you have any corrections,
suggestions or even speculation about the information on this page
please feel free to contact the Project Administrator, Eldon Wade
at: ewade@cfl.rr.com
The
names of the people tested are not posted. Each person who
participates has agreed to share their results and a short
sanitized paternal lineage. At the moment, we include the
following in the table:
-
Kit
Number
-
DNA
test results in 12, 25, 37, and 67 marker format
-
Grouping
of individuals with DNA matches into Wade Family Groups
-
Indication
of matches with other results within their group through color
coding
-
Ancestor
information where the test participant allows us to include
the information
When
matches are found between two or more individuals, they are placed
into Wade haplotype family groups. These groups are shown to make it easier
for you to see the matches and for you to identify the potential
ancestors that are within this group. Colors are used to show
differing markers. If there are more than two mismatches in either
the 12 marker or 25 marker results, then those individuals are
placed in a different group or an ungrouped table. These results
may move to a family group table as more results become available.
The
individual whose Y-DNA is tested is free to publish, disclose,
discuss his results on any other forum. The connection from
"Kit Number" to "Individual" will never be
disclosed on this site. If two people request and agree to
disclose their addresses to each other, the project coordinator
will send them the addresses.
Early
test results have been entered into a
table. That table is viewable on a separate page by
clicking the link on the left titled "Results
Chart". The Results Chart page has links to
both an Excel spreadsheet file and an Adobe Acrobat file. If you have a dialup Internet
connection the downloading of either of these files may be slow.
