Admissions
Requesting admission is as simple as calling (585) 872-5290 and asking to speak with the nurse manager, Linda Wiesbeck.
General Admission Criteria
- Diagnosis of Terminal Illness: no expectation of recovery
- Prognosis of three months or less: limited life expectancy
- Do not resuscitate order: no life sustaining measures will be implemented. For Example: no CPR.
- Private physician coverage
- Associated with a hospice | palliative care home health care agency: GRHC, VNS, Monroe County, etc.
- Understand Webster Comfort Care Home is primarily staffed by volunteers
- No extraordinary care needs: must be able to be safely and comfortably managed by staff and volunteers
- No parenteral nutrition or hydration: no IV’s or feeding tubes
- No intramuscular or subcutaneous injections: medications administered orally, rectally, topically (patch), or by pump
- No financial requirements or expectation of financial contribution
- Admission is not determined by age, creed, color, ethnic background or religion or diagnosis
- With the above criteria met, resident selection is based upon the person or situation which presents the most significant and immediate need.
- The goal of the Webster Comfort Care Home is to provide quality care to the dying by attempting to meet each resident’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual care needs in a supportive, home like environment while respecting their individuality and maintaining their dignity until death.
