Hardin Family buried in Pisgah Baptist Church, Floyd County, GA

Eli Hardin (possibly son of Aaron Hardin) was born April 11, 1808 Pendleton District, SC and died September 15, 1882 in Floyd County, GA. He married in SC to Jane "Jinny" Bolt on February 2, 1832. Jane "Jinny" Bolt was born December 2, 1812 in Laurens County, SC and died September 11, 1887 in Floyd County, GA. Jane was the daughter of John and Nancy (Lindley) Bolt. John and Nancy are buried in Raburn Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory Tavern, Laurens County, SC. Jane's paternal grandfather was Abraham Bolt, a Revolutionary War Soldier who was born in Fauquier County, VA but lived in SC at the time of his service. Jane's maternal grandparents were Thomas and Elizabeth Lindley of Laurens County, SC. Thomas was the son of James and Mary (Cox) Lindley. James, born in Chester County, PA moved with his parents, Thomas and Ruth (Hadley) Lindley to Orange County, NC. The Lindley's were Quaker. On May 3, 1753 in Orange County, NC, James married Mary Cox, daughter of William and Catherine Cox. James and Mary moved with their children to Laurens, SC. James Lindley was a Tory Captain and was hung at Ninety Six, SC in 1779. His son Thomas was administrator of his estate. Eli Hardin and Jane Bolt moved to Floyd County, along with several other family members about 1838. Eli's occupation was farmer, machinist, and hatter according to various census records. Unlike many of the time, Eli was literate. They lived in the Coosa community of Floyd County and were among the early member of the Pisgah Baptist Church were they are buried along with several of their children and other family. During the final years of their life they lived with their son William Martin Hardin.
