SAMUEL KINNEY was born Abt. 1797 in Oglethorpe County, GA, and died 1848 in Clarke County, GA was son of James KINNEY and Sarah ALEXANDER. Samuel married MARY WILLS, daughter of EDWARD WILLS and SARAH VAUGHAN. Mary was born 1795 in Wilkes County, GA, and died Aft. 1860 in probably Jackson County, GA.

Application for Letter of Administration on the Estate of Samuel Kinney Decd. in Clarke County of Ordinary.
Thomas Wills & Joseph A. Kinney vs. Andrew J. Williamson.
And now comes Andrew J. Williamson into court and caveats the application of the said Thomas Wills & Joseph A. Kinney and _____ ______ of caveat suitte.
1st. Because the said applicants are neither heirs and or creitors of said deceased.
2nd. Because said applicants are not the next of Kin to said deceased.
3rd. Because this caveator is one of the heirs of said deceased in right of his wife Nancy E. Williamson formerly Nancy E. Kinney & daughter of said Samuel Kinney, deceased.
4th Because the wife of this caveator is next of Kin & daughter hiers of said deceased & therefore this caveator is intitled to said Administration in properence to said applicants and in consideration thereof prays this court to grant him said Letters of Administration on said estate.
