The purpose of this web site is to offer my advice and services to other individuals or organizations who may need assistance with computer software and/or computer hardware. I spend lots of time working with software and computer related issues and problem solving. My 25 years as a computer professional qualifies me to offer my assistance and expertise on a wide range of areas. I enjoy challenging work and the opportunity to develop new skills.

The Free Software Foundation (FSF) and the Open Source people along with thousands of others have created high performance software available for business and private individuals worldwide. These free software solutions are licensed in a way that creates incredible opportunity and drives innovation. The freedom that is provided by the GPL provides the foundation for this incredible ongoing collaboration.

It's always good to hear about individuals, businesses, and government agencies finding that Linux works for them. It can work for you too! Just give it a try and find out for yourself! You'll be amazed at what Linux and free software can do for you! It's not the software that is free, it is the user who is free. This is why I use Linux on all of our systems at home and also use it often at my workplace.

I am currently employed at a fortune 500 corporation. You can read more about my professional work experience on my Resume.

I encourage you to contact me.

Let's get a dialog established on your most current problem, issue, or idea concerning computer systems or software. I would also enjoy hearing about any success stories you might have to share as well. email me today!

Some of my past and current projects:

  • I recently completed a Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems graduate level degree at University of Phoenix.

  • I am currently implementing an application which runs on Windows XP and provides an ATM with the ability to operate a cash recycler on an ATM. This project uses Windows Extensions for Financial Services (XFS). The application is written in C++ using MS Visual Studio. This is a very large and complex software system, providing the needs of many large financial institutions around the world.

  • A few years back I worked with a team of associates on a design for a centralized Automated Teller Machine (ATM) system configuration tool. The application is written in .NET using Visual Studio .NET. The application is data driven using XML Schema to express relationships between the various subsystem configuration and applications involved.

  • I have been working on a new project that will provide 91x ATM software that is capable of operating on other vendors hardware. This will use the Windows Extensions for Financial Services (XFS). This new and ongoing project has proved to be one of our most challenging to date.

  • I have been developing and integrating ATM software systems using Windows XP Professional.

  • I have been using Linux extensively. Most of my Linux experience, as of lately, is with the latest Ubuntu and PCLinuxOS distributions. I have been using Linux for more than 10 years now beginning with the release of RedHat v5.2.

  • I built a SOHO network that supports several Windows and Linux workstations. The network includes a central gateway server running UBUNTU Linux v8.04 “Hardy Heron” Server Edition. The server is called “gatekeeper”. It provides a collection of valuable services for a single local subnet. You can read more about it here: Read more about gatekeeper

I enjoy working on other kinds of projects also. Here are a few projects I took the time to document.
