This is not some 'earth shaking' topic...but I did want to share a PROUD moment. I had to run to the Target store about an hour ago...(6:00 P. M. EST) to pick up 2 baby shower gifts. Well, since I was already out shopping...I thought I would pick up another GH2 ..to help the cause. I'll have you know... there was NOT a single one to be found. GONE!!!

There were Kenny Chesney cd's still on the shelves.....there were Tim McGraw cd's still on the shelves...there were oh, hello, all the artist were still on the shelves...BUT... not Toby. It was a busy shopping day today and apparently folks were running out of the store with those cd's 'cause there have been GH2's stocked on other trip days to the Target store. Now mind you, I live in a town with a major Air Force base and that might have had some affect...but whatever the reason they were gone...and I was so proud! I actually took on bragging rights about the whole thing when I got home. I'm not sure hubby was as impressed as I was...but he smiled and nodded!!! His way of saying...cool ! Way to go TOBY!!!!!!!!!

WELL I WAS AT MY LOCAL K-MART TODAY AND I NOTICED A POSTER OF THE MAN FOR 'GREATEST HITS2'. I ASKED THE CLERK IF I COULD PURCHASE THE POSTER OR WOULD SHE BE ABLE TO LET ME HAVE IT. I TOLD HER WHAT A FAN OF TOBY'S I WAS. WELL SHE WASN'T SURE IF SHE COULD SELL IT OR GIVE IT AWAY. SO I THANKED HER AND WENT TO CHECK OUT.

ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEAR OVER THE PA SYSTEM "WOULD THE CUSTOMER WHO WANTED THE TOBY KEITH POSTER PLEASE COME BACK TO ELECTRONICS."

I WAS IN LINE AT THAT POINT AND THE ASST. MGR WAS RINGING ME UP, I TOLD HIM I WAS THE CUSTOMER AND COULD SHE JUST COME TO THE FRONT SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO GET OUT OF LINE. HE PAGES HER TO THE FRONT WITH THE LINE "WILL MR KEITH PLEASE COME TO THE FRONT OF THE STORE, PLEASE BRING MR. KEITH TO THE FRONT."

WELL I AM 6 SHADES OF RED NOW AND THEN THE ASST. MGR STARTS SINGING 'WHO'S YOUR DADDY 'TO ME. LETS JUST SAY I HAD A REALLY UNIQUE CHECK-OUT AT THE K- MART AND GOT TO LEAVE WITH THE POSTER OF THE MAN. JUST WANTED TO SHARE A SMILE.

Sept. 28 Country Weekly letter to the editor. I don't know how to scan and do all that stuff, so I'll just type the letter. It is really nice.

AMERICAN SOLDIER
"My son, Spc. Justin Wayne Linden, was killed in Baghdad on June 4. In an article in your Aug. 3 issue ("King of the Hill"), Toby Keith talked about riding home on a plane with the body of Lt. Eric McCrae, who was my son's commanding officer. I wanted to let Toby know that my son was one of the other two Portland, Ore., soldiers that were killed on that mission. We believe with all our hearts that our child died with honor, preserving the rights of the American nation, and we were honored that this battle was mentioned in Country Weekly. Please know that my son lived the song "American Soldier." We can never stop the grief over the loss of our child, but we can apprciate the respect given to American soldiers by Mr. Keith.
Donna Beckman, Elkhorn, Wis."

Toby's music touches so many people in so many ways. I'm really proud to be his fan.

I just got my hair cut last week, it was pretty long, now it just barely skims my shoulders, AND it's the best cut I've ever had. I've gone to the same woman for 20 years. It was late, almost 8pm, 3 girls were out sick, and it was just Marcy and me. I sat in the chair and said "do it however you want, I just want a change" (everyone I know can't believe I did that!). She asked if I minded listening to a cd, I said no, she put in Toby, we sang, she cut and wa la, I have a perfect cut!!

All these years I've known her, and I didn't know she is a Warrior! I stayed while she cleaned up and we talked Toby. Gosh, ya just never know!

Thread Topic: Ford Makes A Play For Southern California, Full page ad with Toby

Note from KarenZ:   My husband tipped me off to a new Ford F-150 ad in the sports section of the L.A. Times, July 3, 2004.   After adding an edited version of the photo to the Heart2Heart website I posted the info to the forum message board.....here's one of the more memorable replies:

Got the full page ad - and had to dig through used cat litter to do it - obviously, NOTHING will keep me from a great picture of Toby.

Actually, after reading this thread I ran to the kitchen recycle bin where I had put the Fri. and Sat. papers and, wouldn't you know it, hubby had put them in the large bin. Run outside, open the bin which is almost as tall as I am, and not only are the papers there, hubby has dumped the used cat litter on top (don't think that is actually recyclable). OK, so, my arms are too short to reach the bottom of the bin, so I tip the bin on its side, and VERY CAREFULLY move clean edges around and Lo AND Behold, there is the Saturday paper, still in its plastic bag, saved just for me. I think the neighbors heard me whopping for joy!

I brought the picture in and showed it to hubby. He suggested I frame it. Of course I said no, but he has insisted. He thinks it will make a great story to tell at his Rotary club meeting. So, now I'm off to find a frame.

Thread Topic: My Sister, The Closet Warrior, She's ALMOST got it......!

Okay, my sister is gonna kill me for this....but I just had to share it with you.

Well first, let me tell you that she is really teetering on the edge of being totally Tobified.....She loves his music. I tell her whenever he's going to be on TV, and she always tries to catch it. And if I forget to tell her, and she happens to catch it, she always calls me (she's in Minnesota, I'm in Illinois). I signed her up for the fan club, but she's not been on the forum yet. She's still trying to figure this whole thing out. Anyway, I sent her the web site that I think Madonna had posted with the pictures of Toby & Ted in Afghanistan. This was the response that she sent to me:

"Those pictures were great! I finally figured out why TK is so darned appealing. I think it's his little round, cherubic face. In his own dang masculine way, he has this little boy innocence about him! (Aren't ya glad ya asked?! :- )"

She's almost there......I think all she needs is a Toby concert, and she'll be caught, hook, line & sinker!!!!! C'mon Toby, let's see a Minnesota concert! Monica & I will be there to initiate my sister into the wonderful world of Toby!!!!

Did I ever tell my story about that concert? Well, if I did............you're gonna read it again.

In Feb. 2003, I was on my way to AZ for a 3 week vacation and got sidetracked with a 4 day stay at the hospital in Wichita KS. I'd had knee replacement the previous Sept. and now had a staph infection in the artificial joint. After the hospital there stabilized me, friends came from IA and got me back here where I immediately entered the hospital for surgery to clean the knee joint and pack it with antibiotic beads. I drove my surgeon crazy! I lost count of the times I asked if I'd be able to go to the March 1 Toby concert because I had front row center seats.

From the hospital, I went to a care facility for 11 days..............coming home 10 days before the concert. I met with my Dr. just a week the concert and again asked if I could go to the concert..............and he said he thought it was a good idea for me to go. Actually, I think he knew he’d have a hysterical female on his hands if he didn’t let me go. But he had two requirements for the concert. I had to be delivered to the front door of the venue and had to use a wheel chair. So my concert buddy from WI (WisconsinTKFan) and I hired an executive taxi to transport us to and from the concert, and I rented a wheel chair for $20. It was fantastic! The taxi delivered us to the front door of the Target Center where Carol wheeled me to our front row center seats.........Row 1, Seats 5 & 6! An usher stored my wheel chair over at the side, and I relaxed in my seat. After Toby took the stage, I spent 75% of the time leaning on the barricade at the foot of the stage............only taking breaks to go back to my seat and rest my knee. That knee hurt like hell after I got home, but during the concert it felt pretty darn good.

Goes to show what a good spurt of adrenaline does..........not to mention a dose of a 6'4" curly blonde haired Okie.   I’ve had my front row center seat................a once in a life time thrill!!!
